| Marine snails can be found in the Lower and Upper Muschelkalk and very rarely in the Keuper. Apart from accumulations in gutters they are commonly rare and badly preserved. There are numerous generas of a very small size, but also some very large ones like Loxonema or Chemnitzia. In most cases, the shell was dissolved during diagenesis and has only left a steinkern without any sculpture. | |
